Summer Newsletter 2025

Staying Grounded During Stressful Times

Seems like in January of every year, we’re already starting to look forward to all the fun activities that summer will have to offer—Sports, outdoor activities, vacations, graduations, weddings, barbecues, etc. But in reality, with all the joy that summer brings to us, some additional stress may be attached—packed schedules, extra expenses, yard work, demanding children, cranky in-laws, travel issues, and delays. All that gets added on top of existing concerns about jobs, families, finances, health, and  future uncertainties. The very things we so look forward to for fun, stress relief, or respite unwittingly create more angst.

Some are unaffected, yet for others the pressure builds up, and you end up feeling overwhelmed, or defeated. It’s sunny out, and there’s no snow or freezing temperatures. Like the soaring temperatures outside, our internal temperature can reach the boiling point. Witnessing a dose of road rage sure can take the fun out of a pleasant summer joy ride. What’s a person do to?

With all the external hustle and bustle hitting us from every direction, we can start by disconnecting, and being more present. As busy as your summer schedule may be, take the time to checking in on your boundaries, and place some restrictions on the news, social media, or even toxic relationships. Our nervous systems are not designed for constant bombardment, even in the name of good fun. Set time aside to observe, appreciate, and enjoy the time of year. Be still enough to enjoy the simple pleasures of summer, like an ear of sweet corn, or a late evening walk in the woods. Take stock of where you are in life, and reflect upon the path you’re on. Choose whatever practices you love; mindfulness, contemplation, meditation or  breath work to assist in slowing the pace down. Get off the hamster wheel, and truly enjoy midsummer before it morphs into the early harvest. It passes like the twinkling of an eye.

Way of the Warrior Program

With over 1,400 hours of development time, the new flagship program, Way of the Warrior (WOW), is the most robust wisdom wheel course to date. This new 40-hr. workshop, built around Celtic spirituality, is divided into 6 modules, meeting one full day per month, for six months. The first module is a comprehensive Introduction to Shamanism, while the other 5 modules dive deep into wisdom wheel technology, and it’s relevancy to modern life.
Way of the Warrior includes lectures, a notebook full of handouts, crafts, drum journeys, and guided meditations. Mugs, and a poster are optional items. WOW is specifically designed for newcomers to shamanism, where you’ll start from square one with all the basics, including how to journey.

Availability: The first program debuted Sept 2024, and the 2025 circuit is currently underway. A third offering is targeted for January 2026. See website for details, or email me to set up a Zoom interview-application. The in-person meeting gives us a chance to see if the program is a good fit on both ends.

Note: All courses are currently being taught in small intimate gatherings of 6 or less. An online version can be made available now by request, and an on-demand website version is TBD in 2026. Traveling a reasonable distance to offer the class would be considered, so email me if you have a small group that might be interested! WOW is for personal development, and not a certification or practitioner-level program.

Besides WOW, shamanic services, and group ceremonies, other things are in the works:

  • Possible Companion Workbook for the WOW program
  • Path of Empowerment – Advanced Celtic Shamanism & Working with Clients
  • Mini Workshops in: Negative Energies, and Nordic Studies
  • Mentorship program for individuals/practitioners
